What originally began as an organization dedicated to energy systems has grown into a multi-faceted, full-service construction company renowned throughout the Chicagoland area.

The roots of the company reach as far back as 1983, when brothers Tom and Mike Teschner founded Phoenix Energy Systems, Inc., and started operations out of a 1,800 square foot office/warehouse in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The company built and sold energy-related products and systems. This focus of the business changed as the federal energy tax credit expired and demand for renewable energy began to wane. By the spring of 1985, the business had grown from three employees to ten. The company evolved into a full-service construction company, and the name was changed to Phoenix Builders, Ltd. 

Within the next year, Phoenix Builders had much success with its new business model, and moved operations to a 3,000 square foot facility. Between 1986 to 1989, Phoenix Builders became a leader in the commercial construction industry, and soon had so many projects that the company outgrew our facilities again. In 1990, the company expanded to a 9,300 square foot space that accommodated our broadening operations. Phoenix Builders continued to grow exponentially; purchasing two acres of land in 1996 and constructing a 20,000 square foot facility in Rolling Meadows, where it is headquartered today. 

Over the next two decades, Phoenix Builders rose to its solidified position as a leader in commercial construction. Specializing in commercial spaces, restaurants, healthcare and industrial construction, Phoenix Builders now offers a full range of in-house carpentry, architectural millwork, and painting services to large well-known clients as well as local businesses.

Today, with a team of 50 dedicated professionals, Phoenix Builders completes projects with a collaborative approach; using best-in-class techniques to improve productivity, reduce costs, and deliver successful results to our clients. We enhance the quality of the construction experience for our customers through excellent communication and unmatched service.
